At least 100 suspected thugs have been arrested in an operation conducted by the Kampala Central Police Station today afternoon hours.
Assistant Superintendent of Police – ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, said the arrested criminals have been targeting motorists in Kiseka disguising as mechanics.
“The gangs also target people shopping in some malls like Gaza land, Mini price, City Square and Nakasero among other areas,” ASP Owoyesigyire said.
Security team that comprised of Field Force Unit -FFU, general duty and intelligence organs also recovered suspected stolen phones , house breaking implements and suspected narcotic substances from some of the suspects.
Last week over 200 were arrested in areas of Nakivubbo, Mutungo, Bugolobi, Nakulabye, Bukesa, Kasangati and Kiteezi.
