Jinja Road police is investigating the murder of Geoffrey Mugerwa 22, a security guard deployed at Luzira senior secondary school, Nakawa Division, in Kampala.
It is alleged that Mugerwa was punched by Duncan Byambala a Senior Four student at 11 am as students exited the school through the main gate.
“The security guard is alleged to have taken a punch from Byambala Dankan a senior four candidate.
Geoffrey fell on the ground and was unconscious before being rushed to ST Steven Dispensary where he was pronounced dead,” ASP Luke Owoyesigyire the deputy Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson said.
The school administration informed police about Mugerwa’s death and the body was conveyed to the city mortuary Mulago.
“We have recorded statements from witnesses and the hunt is for Byambala who is believed to be on the run is on,” Police said.
Byambala is likely not to show up to sit for the remaining exams since he fears arrest. But if he shows up at the school, police will pickup him to face trial for the alleged murder.
