Senior Commissioner of Police Fred Enanga

Two days after President Yoweri Museveni imposed a stay home lockdown in Mubende and Kassanda districts in a bid to control the spread of Ebola, security agencies have revealed that 28 cars and 222 motorcycles have been impounded for flouting the guidelines.

Senior Commissioner of Police- SCP Fred Enanga the police spokesperson, said police and sister security agencies have impounded 145 motorcycles in Kassanda and three cars. Other 77 motorcycles and 25 cars have been impounded in Mubende district.

Enanga said clandestine security agencies such as crime intelligence and internal security organization have been deployed at the borders to trace contacts of the people already killed by the Ebola disease as well as those who already been diagnosed with the highly contagious virus.

Security have warned that they will not spare anyone who will attempt to defy the guidelines for controlling Ebola. Museveni declared a 21 days in the two districts on Saturday night. But police have revealed that five people who attempted to confront security agencies implementing the guidelines were arrested.

It should be noted that 19 people have been killed by Ebola while many others are battling the contagious disease in Mubende, Fort Portal and Entebbe hospitals.
