Suspected Thugs Operating at Kalungi, Galiraya Plazas Nabbed

Police said the operation was prompted by cries from members of the public that the suspected culprits could rob people at Allen Road, at Kalungi and Galiraya plaza.

Suspected thugs operating inside and outside Kalungi and Galiraya plazas in the Central Business District have been arrested by Kampala Central Police Station.

Assistant Superintendent of Police –ASP Ivan Nduhura, who is also the CPS Operations Commander led the operation in which the alleged thugs were arrested on Thursday afternoon.

Police said the operation was prompted by cries from members of the public that the suspected culprits could rob people at Allen Road, at Kalungi and Galiraya plaza. The operation was conducted by covert and overt security team.

“Today we had an operation where we managed to arrest some notorious criminals who have been robbing people at Allen road and those stealing people at Kalungi plaza and Galiraya,” ASP Nduhura said.

Police have identified the suspects mostly by pseudo names that include City Rat, City Dog, Ibra and Hassan. The accused are currently detained at CPS as they wait to be interrogated and record statements.
