The Kampala Capital City Council Authority has called for dialogue from different role players on how to better manage land within the city .
The dialogue happening at Mestil Hotel on Wednesday attracted expert input from land city managers , land lawyers and boards of governance among others.
While addressing the audience , Dorothy Kisakka , the Executive Director KCCA mentioned that there were key issues to deliberate on incase land was to harnessed for urban management.

“We need to know, which land is ours ? Who owns land , what are they doing with it ! , How much land is in Kampala , what are the legal frame works , Do we have a database.?”
She noted that to have a fruitful discussion, all political hats needed to be laid aside.
In addition, the state Minister for Kampala Capital City and Metropolitan affairs Kyofatogabya Kabuye hinted on the need for renewal of urban land management plans to facilitate public parks which have lately been diminishing.
“We want to have free space where our children can go and play ,but because infra structure is radically coming up , you find some of these spaces being encroached on.”
Owekitiibwa Robert Waggwa Nsibirwa from Buganda land Board in his communication applauded the cause for the dialogue noting that it is their desire to see positive development upon the land .
“We are here today to commit that Buganda Kingdom can never get in the way for development.
We have always and continue to offer land to the government of Uganda and organizations on free hold/ mailo land to aid development.”
