The Minister of State For Foreign Affairs has revealed that 22,000 Ugandans visited the Kenya cost last year,2022.
The 22,000 are a fraction of the over 150,000 registered visits of Ugandans to Kenya for different reasons.
According to John Mulimba the state minister for Foreign Affairs, the increase in visits is attributed to the flights by Uganda Airlines to Mombasa Coast from Entebbe Airport. These he says have made the visitations easier.

Mulimba says; “The increasing number of tourists between Uganda and Kenya Coast has been aided by the improved air connection between Entebbe and Mombasa. Currently, Uganda Airlines operates three (03) weekly direct flights between Entebbe and Mombasa.”
The above mentions came up as part of preparations for the second Uganda- Kenya Coast Tourism Conference, 2023 to be held from 13th-14th November 2023 at Neptune Paradise Beach Resort and Spa in Diani, Kwale County in Kenya.
The initiative came as way for both countries to boost their tourism business given their long-standing cooperation. While Kenya is Uganda’s leading tourism source market, Uganda is Kenya’s as well ranking second to the USA.
Last year alone, which was an increase from the previous year,370,000 Kenyans visited Uganda for various reasons.
Different social events including music festivals, sports and more have attracted a number of tourists in addition to Uganda’ rich tourism sites according to Mulimba.
“We possess some of the rarest primates in the world, Namugongo Martyrs Shrines, Source of River Nile, rich culture, among others. Therefore, our Missions abroad need to rigorously market these products.”
