Victory University in Uganda has increased hopes for young talented youth in the music and entertainment industry by interesting itself in the promotion of talents.
A resolution, reached upon on Tuesday by the University management in kampala, whose role is to act as a middle man between the two artists, Sheebah Karungi and Cindy Sanyu, by setting up a music battle, focuses at inspiring young talented youths and also to foster for peace among the parties.
The music challenge, has been scheduled for 15th September at kololo air strip in Kampala following the acceptance via a phone call, of the artists to showcase.
The University Vice Chancellor Prof. Lawrence Muganga, acknowledged the passion exhibited by both artists to promote the music industry, “Music holds tremendous power to inspire and unite people. Sheebah Karungi and Cindy Sanyu have demonstrated their capabilities as influential artists who significantly impact their audiences, their ability to influence the minds of the younger generation and the broader public is commendable,” he said.
Muganga, explained to members of the press that Uganda, as a nation is dominated by young people, with 70% of the population falling within this vibrant demographic therefore they recognize young individuals’ boundless passion and creativity, which can be translated into tangible job opportunities, he noted.
This is one of the the ways Universities can future proof education through arts, however, any university should not only serve the elites but the community as well, it should uphold the people and bring them to sound level of redemption especially by participating in community development and community engagement, Muganga added.
