Mbambu died at Bwera Hospital where she was receiving treatment. The second decomposing body of a female victim has been recovered in the DRC, by UPDF soldiers pursuing the ADF rebels thus bring the death toll to 44.

“The death toll from the school terror attack has now risen to 44. The recovered body of the victim was transferred to the mortuary, at Muhoti Military Hospital, for further DNA profiling and comparison,” Enanga said.

Security has reiterated that there is no justification for terrorism, more so on innocent school children and other civilians. The forces say targeting of innocent civilians is reprehensible and cowardly.

“As a country, we do continue to acknowledge an outpouring of messages of condolence from several leaders across the globe. We thank them all, for expressing their solidarity with us, against all forms of terror and sharing their grief with us,” Enanga said.

Security forces have vowed to continue pursuing terrorists from all their hideouts. The forces said they remain steadfast and reaffirm their commitment to countering terrorism and violent extremism against citizens.
