Gov’t to Hold Public Funeral Service for Minister Killed by Bodyguard

Minister killed by his bodyguard will be mourned by the public tomorrow at Kololo ceremonial grounds.

Charles Okello Engola was shot dead by his bodyguard, Pte Wilson Sabiiti, on Tuesday last week over delayed payments.

Okello was minister of state for labour and his body will be taken to Kololo at 8:30 am.

Frank Mugabi, the spokesperson for gender ministry has said the President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni, is expected to attend.

The service will be open to all members of the public, with or without undertaking a COVID test.

Guests who will have undergone COVID testing will access the ground through the Elgon Terrace entrance via Protea hotel while other Guests and members of the public who may not have undergone COVID testing will use the Wampewo avenue entrance via Hotel Africana.
