Woman Arrested Over Husband’s Death After Buying Land

Peace Turyasima is in the cells of Kabale police station on the accusation of having orchestrated the murder of her husband Gadi Aharimpisa 45, with whom they had just bought a piece of land.

Aharimpisa’s gruesome demise is being investigated under reference 785/2022 was notified to the locals by the suspect herself. These were residents of Kanyanjoka village, Kacerere ward, Katuna town council, in Kabale district.

Police through the Kigezi region police spokesperson, Elly Mate, said the Ahirimpisa and wife now turned suspect left their home and went to Ryakarimira, Rubaya Town council to buy a piece of land where they were planning to shift their home.

Turyasima did not return home with her husband after buying the land. She remained behind with her parents because the piece of land they had bought was near her parents’ home in Ryakarimira.

The suspect returned home after some days with their daughter Niwamanya Adrine but they found when the front door was locked from the inside. She said she called the husband but he didn’t respond.

“They moved behind, where they found the door open and flies coming from inside the house. On entering inside, they found him dead on the bed, bending down, blood oozing from the nose and ears, with a cut injury on the right ear and blood stains on the floor,” ASP Mate said.

Turyasima made an alarm that attracted locals and area chairman Johnson Mugisha who later reported the matter to Katuna police station. She is now being held on suspicion that he had a hand in her darling’s gruesome ending.

Similarly, Rukiga police are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of two juveniles namely; Macklin Amumpire 14, and Vincent Akandwanaho 10, who were both pupils of Kiholizo primary school.

The deceased children were belonging to Regina Turinawe and Bernard Rushijja residents of Rutoma cell Nyakagabagaba parish Rwamucucu sub-county Rukiga district. One Alban is the suspect in the children’s murder.

“It is alleged that the mother of the children received several threats from one Alban, just because he was employed as a shamba boy in the banana plantation of a certain man in the village who later suspended his services and entrusted that woman as a new caretaker of the same plantation,” ASP Mate explained.
