The joint security team has arrested over 160 suspected criminals in the Wakiso district during the Thursday night operations. Security agencies among others Uganda People’s Defence Forces -UPDF and Uganda Police Force -UPF launched the operations following a series of outcries from the members of the public.
Security carried out the operations in areas of Nakuwadde, Kiraka, Bulenga, Kikaya, and Gogonya villages. Most of the suspects were found in bars where they allegedly planned their attacks.
One of the bars that have consistently between cited for harbouring criminals is B13 located at Nakuwadde. The biggest number of the suspects were picked from this drinking point. Senior Superintendent of Police- SSP Patrick Onyango, the Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson, said the suspects will be screened so that those with pending cases are immediately prosecuted.
