Four have been arrested by Uganda police force after they were found with a Pistol whose possession detail they could not clearly elaborate.
The suspects, according to Assistant Superintendent of Police, PJ Okema, are being held over illegal firearm.
ASP Okema said they were intercept in wee hours of Wednesday morning at Palabel along Gulu-Nimule high way by patrollers. The suspects were moving in Motor vehicle Reg No UBG 877S Toyota wish white in colour.
At the time of their arrest, the quartet were moving towards Gulu. Police searched their vehicle and it was when a Pistol was discovered pistol. The Pistol had 15bullets.
“Upon interrogation the occupants couldn’t give proper account of themselves and the pistol, they were arrested and detained at Atiak police station,” ASP Okema said.
Police identified the suspects as Lemi Chris aged 36 years a resident of Ndejje Kanyanya, wakiso District and was the driver of the car, Kiir Angello 34 years, a South Sudane from Juba an artist (musician), Bol Ngor 29 years, a South Sudanese businessman from Juba and Safi Adam 33 years, a driver, a resident of Bweyale, Kiryandongo District.
ASP Okema said the suspects would be charged of being in possession of illegal firearm. Their motor vehicle and pistol exhibited as inquiries continue.
