Five more people have succumbed to novel Corona Virus Disease –Covid19 in Uganda bringing the number of fatalities to 69.
Uganda’s ministry of health reports that the five new deaths were part of the Covid19 tests conducted from alerts, returnees and random checks across the country.
More 167 new Covid19 cases have been confirmed in Uganda bring the cumulative confirmed cases are now 6,879. At least 2,961 have recovered from the contagious disease.
The deaths registered yesterday two were from Kapchorwa, while Kampala, Mbale and Gulu each had one fatality. Of the 167 news cases, Kampala has 62, Kiryandongo (40), Soroti (7), Agago (5), Bundibugyo (5), Mbale (6), Gulu (4), Isingiro (3), Bududa (2), Jinja (2), Lamwo (4), Masindi (2), Buikwe (1), Kaberamaido (1), Koboko (1), Kole (4), Luwero (1), Mukono (2), Nwoya (1), Wakiso (1) and Terego (1).
The ministry added that 11 out of 12 returnees who tested positive were from India and 1 from South Sudan. Uganda recorded her first Covid19 case on March and numbers have since been skyrocketing.
