A toy gun found with the arrested suspects.More than 100 suspected criminals have been arrested in various parts of Kampala metropolitan according to ASP Luke Owoyesigyire.
Owoyesigyire explained that the operations were carried out by Kampala metropolitan South and Kampala metropolitan East.
Police said a series of intelligence-led disruptive operations were conducted between the 28th and 29th of October 2025, targeting criminal elements and areas notorious for drug abuse, robbery, and theft.
“In Kampala Central Division, 40 suspects were rounded up in black spots linked to theft of motor vehicle parts and other street crimes,” ASP Owoyesigyire said.
Seven suspects were arrested in Kira Municipality areas such as Kitukutwe, Kiwologoma, Kungu, Buwate, and Najjera. These were arrested with suspected narcotics and a toy gun suspected to be used in robberies.
“In Kajjansi Division, 45 suspects were apprehended from Ngobe, Sseguku, and Kajjansi for suspected involvement in early-morning robberies,” ASP Owoyesigyire said.
In Mukono, a joint operation in Kyugu and Kisenyi–Degeya led to the arrest of nine suspects found with suspected narcotic substances .
“All suspects are detained at respective stations pending screening and prosecution. Police will continue with intelligence-led operations to dismantle criminal networks and enhance public safety across the metropolitan area, ” ASP Owoyesigyire said.
