Two Lynched in Mukono Over Stolen Goats

At least two people were lynched in Mukono on acussations of stealing three goats. According to SSP Patrick Onyango, the Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson, the incident happened at Bumbajja village, Kiyoola Parish, Nakisunga sub-county, in Mukono.

“Police in Mukono are investigating a tragic incident where a mob killed two suspected thieves in Bumbajja Village, Kiyoola Parish, Nakisunga, Mukono District,” SSP Onyango said.

Police said one deceased was identified as Mayanja, 27 years old, from Gamba Village, Kitente Parish, Nakisunga Subcounty; the second victim remains unidentified. Onyango said the suspects were allegedly caught with three stolen goats on a red Bajaj Boxer motorcycle with registration UDZ 132/D.

“Residents intercepted them; the thieves tried to escape but were chased and beaten to death. The goats were reportedly stolen from Shibabani Ibra in Gamba Village, Katente, Nakisunga, Mukono. The motorcycle and goats were recovered; bodies were taken to Mulago City Mortuary for postmortem,” SSP Onyango said.
