Police in Entebbe are investigating a case of aggravated defilement involving a minor. The victim’s mother, Ninsiima Sharone, reported the incident, which allegedly occurred at the hands of her husband, Waggama Yusuf, a 40-year-old traditional healer and the victim’s stepfather.
“We have since established that, Waggama Yusuf exploited his position of trust, telling his wife to sleep in the shrine, leaving him alone with the victim. He then allegedly performed a sexual act with the victim without her consent on multiple occasions,” SSP Patrick Onyango the Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson said.
Onyango said the second instance occurred after Waggama Yusuf tried to fight his wife, causing her to flee. “The victim’s mother eventually noticed her weakness and inquired about her condition, leading to a medical checkup that revealed the victim was pregnant,” SSP Onyango said.
