
BY D SEBUNYA: The highly anticipated 2024 Airtel Masaza Cup final will take place at the iconic Mandela National Stadium, Namboole, on November 2, 2024. The announcement was made during a press briefing by Robert Sserwanga, the Buganda Kingdom’s Sports Minister, on Monday, at Bulange, Mengo, the official seat of the Kingdom.
Having commenced in June, the tournament has now reached its semifinal stage, with Buwekula, Kyaggwe, Buddu, and Kyadondo counties advancing to the final four. These teams will clash in the semifinals, with the winners moving on to contest the grand finale at Namboole Stadium.
Addressing the press, Sserwanga expressed his heartfelt appreciation to all the supporters and stakeholders who have contributed to the success of the Masaza Cup.
“I want to thank all the supporters and contributors who have played a significant role in backing the teams. On November 2nd, from among Kyadondo, Kyaggwe, Buwekula, and Buddu counties, we will crown the 2024 Masaza Cup champions,” he stated.
Sserwanga also took the opportunity to acknowledge the tournament’s sponsors, highlighting their crucial role in the event’s success.
“I extend my gratitude to our sponsors who have been exceptional partners, and to all the fans supporting their teams in various ways. A special thanks to our main sponsor, Airtel Uganda, for their unwavering support,” he added.
Ticket prices for the finals will remain the same as previous years: UGX 20,000 for ordinary tickets, UGX 50,000 for VIP, and UGX 100,000 for VVIP.
Airtel Uganda, the tournament’s title sponsor, reaffirmed its commitment to supporting local sports and preserving cultural heritage.

The Airtel Masaza Cup has seen tremendous growth over the years, attracting not only emerging talent but also thousands of passionate fans who embrace Buganda’s cherished cultural traditions. This year’s competition has been especially fierce, with fans eagerly anticipating a thrilling final.
Both Airtel Uganda and the Buganda Kingdom extend an invitation to all football enthusiasts to join them in witnessing the crowning of the 2024 Airtel Masaza Cup champion.
“At Airtel, we’re working on making tickets available for purchase through Airtel Money, and we’ll soon communicate the details. I encourage all fans, supporters, and well-wishers to come in large numbers and support their teams,” Musoke concluded.
This marks the first time since 2019 that the Masaza Cup final will be held at the Mandela National Stadium, making the event even more significant for fans and participants alike.
