
A man identified as, Isaac Ssali, has been arrested for shooting to death a drunkard man, who could not ride his motorcycle along Entebbe Expressway. Police have identified the deceased as Francis Masembe who was shot at around 1:30 am at Munyonyo round- about a long Kagwa bridge, Entebbe express highway, Makindye Sabagabo, in Wakiso district.

Masembe, who was aged 34 was A resident of Kajjansi in Wakiso district and he was with his wife Eunice Orishaba, his sister Sarah Wanyana and another family friend named Godfrey Odeke.
Masembe parked on the roadside and his alcoholic intoxication forced Odeke also to park. “They parked two motorcycles on the roadside contemplating how they could take deceased home after being drunk and failed to ride his motorcycle,” sources said.
As they still wondered how to take Masembe home, an occupant of motor vehicle reg UBM300M BMW Black in color later identified as, Isaac Ssali, accused them of being robber.
“Ssali stopped and after a brief confrontation with Masembe, he cocked his pistol shot him on the right side of the ribs and died on arrival at Kiruddu hospital.
Police was notified and responded immediately to the scene,” sources said.
Katwe police visited the scene of crime accompanied by a team of detectives. Masembe’s body was taken to city mortuary mulago for postmortem examination. “The killer weapon was recovered and the suspect was arrested. It’s also established that the deceased and partner had staged up a fight by the road side,” sources said.
Wanyana, the deceased’s sister who was also at the scene said her brother was drunk and had disagreement with the wife along the way. “It’s also established the suspect exchanged arguments with the deceased before shooting. Twelve rounds of live ammunition were recovered.”
Orishaba said her husband parked because of drunkenness and couldn’t manage to ride any further his motorcycle reg UDT333V causing them to stay on the road before the assailant came. Sources said upon examining the body, it looked like the projectile remained in his body. Ssali has since produced a fire arm certificate.
