Today early morning at about 7:20am a UPDF soldier attached to Military Police Cpl Andebo Collins shot and fatally injured his wife Aturinda Pellone.
Col Deo Akiiki the deputy UPDF Spokesperson said Cpl Andebo was deployed to guard Hon Kibule where he left his position early to committ the murder by shooting.
“After shooting the wife in both arms cpl Andebo also shot himself in the mouth and died instantly. Unfortunately Pellone also later succumbed to her wounds,” Col Akiiki said.
Kibuule was a state minister for water and environment but his political stardom crashes in 2021 after being defeated in parliamentary elections.
The two were living in Lutaka In Makindye Division. The UPDF and Police are investigating the matter to establish the cause of the incident.
“However, preliminary information indicate that the two have lived with marital misunderstandings for long despite attempts by the leaders to create harmony,” Col Akiiki added.
