Resilient Songstress Evelyn Lagu loses Battle to Kidney Complications

It is a somber morning in the world of music after news that 42 year old Evelyn Lagu is no more .

Early morning this week on Monday , the singer and actress was announced and confirmed dead by her son over social media.

To her record, she has performed with Mustard and Flash bands, sung backup vocals for (the late) Carol Nakimera, Halima Namakula, Ragga Dee, Makoma and Mampi from Zambia among many others.

The resilient Songstress has been battling kidney complications for over 4 years which she was medically advised in Turkey, that a transplant would kill her instead.

Over the past few years from around 2022, Langu has been on dialysis twice every week.

According to reports , this time after taking dialysis as had become her routine , she arrived home ,let out her final breath and did not revive.

Meanwhile Lagu was promoting her charity concert dubbed “Evelyn Love Charity concert” which was meant to take place at Papaz Spot in Makindye on 28 October 2023.

With a number of mourners sending out condolence messages over social media , a number of colleagues have spoken for her resilience .

Eddy Kenzo made a post saying; “We took these pictures last Tuesday at the Jam session and I can’t believe your gone dear Evelyn Lagu.
You have fought abig battle my sister may your soul rest in peace.”

Rhema also made post in the same vein saying God has done as His will is .

She went ahead to cancel a You tube premiere for her song which was to be this Morning.

“Out of respect for my fallen sister Evelyn Lagu, I have decided to pause the premiere of Tonyt video which was meant to happen in a few minutes. Will update you friends but in the meantime mukama bwatyo bwageze.
