The ghetto people in Wakiso district, Nansana have implored government and well wishes to render assistance in development of the ghetto children especially through creation of employment opportunities.
The call, has been mentioned by the Care for The Ghetto Foundation, a community based organisation on Thursday through their founder, Mr. Bataamye Grace while launching this year’s ghetto run, sponsored by Pastor Wilson Bugembe, Riham products, Sumz snacks company among others.
According to Bataamye, ” the ghetto run is organized annually by the Care for Ghetto Foundation focused at fundraising money that later supports the ghetto children with creation of employment.”
This year, the ghetto run, is put under the theme, ” Create Jobs and End Criminality.” Targeting to come up with a resource center and as well to equip the ghetto children with technical knowledge for example, mechanical engineering , car washing, carpentry, welding and talent promotion like boxing because Uganda has wasted alot of talented young persons who are much capable of bringing medals at home, he addressed.
Bataamye has also appealed to the Prime Minister Hon. Robinah Nabanja, the president of Uganda HE Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu and other members of parliament who are patriotic to come and support the ghetto run through buying the kits and providing other necessities.
We are not political, but instead a charity organization that seeks to build the young generation of Uganda from the ghetto, that is why we associate with all sorts of leaders, he emphasized.
