A fatal crash involving two motor vehicles UBG 812K and UBL 945Y Fuso Fighter has occurred this evening at 7:10pmbat Mile 17 along Mbarara-Isingiro Road in Isingiro District leaving eight people dead on spot.
SP Micheal Kananura the traffic police spokesperson said that motor vehicle UBL 945U a Fuso Fighter carrying scrap and people lost control after failing to break.
“The Fuso crossed into another opposite lane of the oncoming motor vehicle UBG 812K belonging to Global Bus company traveling from Mbarara to Isingiro,” SP Kananura said.
The head on collision left eight people who were traveling on a Fuso Fighter dead on spot while one other person in a bus sustained minor injuries.
The injured bus passenger has been taken to nearby Clinic in Isingiro for First Aid while the bodies have taken to Mbarara Referral Hospital for postmortem
Police towed the Fuso wreckage to Isingiro Police Station for Inspection.
“The Cause of the Accident is Reckless Driving by the Driver of M/V UBL 945Y Fuso Fighter,” SP Kananura said.
