Museveni Directs Kapyemi Healing Center To Become a Tourist Attraction

President Yoweri Museveni has directed through the Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja to oversee the transformation of Kapyemi healing city of Omukama Ruhaga Owobusobozi Bisaka into a tourist attraction center.

Nabbanja, who represented President Yoweri Museveni at Kapyeemi function on Sunday, and also read her boss’s speech said the Faith of Unit request to turn their headquarters in Kagadi district into a tourism city had been received by the executive. Faith of Unit wrote sometime back requesting that their headquarters in Kapyemi, Kagadi district be turned into a tourist attraction and healing City.

Museveni is his speech said: ” I therefore, direct the Prime Minister to get in touch with the Minister of Tourism, Wildlife, and Antiquities to address this matter.” The Sunday function was organized to remember the birth day of the departed founder of Faith of Unity Owobusobozi Bisaka. Although he died some years ago, his followers celebrate his birth date every year and some believe he will return one time. If he was still alive, Bisaka would be now 94 years old.

“Tourism is a top foreign exchange earner for the country and the government under the NDP (III) identifies tourism as one of the key sectors which are driving the social economic development. Your request to make Faith of Unity birthday is a public holiday and is to be celebrated Nationwide as healing or tourism City is a legitimate cause,” Museveni said.

By formation of the faith of Unity, Museveni said it created a platform for the people to exercise their religions and engage in development activities as they fight evil practices such as witchcraft. He also appreciated the leaders of Faith of Unity for promoting unity among the people.

“National Resistance Movement (NRM) government and the face of unity shall continue to enjoy cordial relations as the NRM government respects all religious freedom and encourages people to practice religions of their own,” Museveni said.

Museveni said the government has constructed roads, hospitals, and schools among other infrastructures that can be accessed by all Ugandans at no cost. The head of state, however, castigates headteachers in the government-aided schools who are charging fees. This, he said has increased in the school dropout rates in the country.

Museveni also informed Faith of Unity members that the government has embarked on wealth creation campaigns that aim at improving the household income countrywide. Leaders at various levels to mobilize the communities to embrace the programs so that the parish Development Model (PDM) and Emyooga money reach and benefit the targeted population.

Matia Kasaijja, the Minister of Finance Planning and Economic Development, applauded the Faith of Unity leaders and their fellows for their value addition on some of the products that they have come up with adding that government is willing to give them more help.

“We can see that you are using the current resources to make something useful to the community. This is a great milestone for us as Ugandans and if only we can have more people add value to the already existing resources, this will reduce our expenditure on importing goods,” Kasaija said.
