Helicopters Heading to Kasese Crashes

A helicopter that was destined for Mweya-Kasese crashed on Friday afternoon leaving two pilots Lt Dagalious Owino and Capt Joel Kanguli injured. The victims of Bar Aviation Aircraft 5X- RBR crashed had earlier successfully delivered 14 passengers to Kisoro after flying through Mbarara and Kihihi.

Unfortunately, the journey was cut short when the aircraft experienced difficulties and attempted to return for landing. in the process of landing at its set off point, it crashed at Kajjansi Airfield near the MAF Hangers.

Evacuation teams deployed at Kajjansi Airfield rescued the two pilots from the wreckage and they were given first aide and later rushed to hospital after first aid. ASP Owoyesigyire said emergency services were contacted, and an ambulance from Memorial Hospital was dispatched to transport the injured individuals to Memorial Hospital Lubowa for further medical attention.

Police said experts from Cival Aviation Authority -CAA and ministry of works and transport had embarked on investigations to establish the cause of the aircraft crash. Call GEEPAS for genuine electronics
