20 Raided Cattle Recovered from Kenya

Uganda security forces working with their Kenyan counterparts have recovered some 20 heads of cattle that were reportedly raided from the grazing ground in the area of Katelel village, Chepskunya Town Council in Kween District.

Mike Longole the Mt Moroto police spokesperson said they had been raided by the Pokots from Amudat. Longole explained that the 20 heads of cattle were impounded from an Abattoir in Nairobi, Kenya after warriors who raided them reportedly sold them off to cattle traders from Kacheliba in west Pokot.

Security said the impounding followed a concerted effort and coordination put in by joint security teams and local leaders of Amudat especially Chairperson LCV Amudat and Mayor of Karita town council.

The owners of the 20 heads of cattle have left for Nairobi Kenya late this afternoon after getting the information of recovery of their cattle. “We applaud the cooperation and effort  of Amudat leadership towards this success.” Courtesy Picture
