Two of the children died on the spot while three others including their teacher were rushed to the hospital with fractured body parts. ASP Kawala has identified the deceased children as Jonathan Matovu 5, and Buriana Nantongo 6, who were residents of the same village where the crash occurred.

ASP Kawala said police have since arrested the Haizhanga and he is currently detained at Kassanda police station as investigations into the whole incident proceed. More than 10 school children have been knocked dead since this term began.

Four students were knocked dead in Gomba at Kasaka secondary school, two in Kireka, two in Mukono, and another was knocked dead on Monday evening this week. Most of the children are knocked dead or injured by reckless and speeding drivers.
