At least five people have this evening lost their lives in a road crash involving multiple vehicles at Buloba near Forest Park along the Kampala Mityana road. The crash that occurred at 8 pm involved a Scania truck UAX 628S loaded with parked water, Toyota Hiace UBE 613E, Isuzu Elf UAR 175W, Mitsubishi Pajero UAX 783F, UAV 515J, and UFL 384D Bajaj Boxer.
ASP Faridah Nampiima, the traffic police spokesperson, said the Scania Truck driver lost control after it burst a tyre and ended up ramming into various vehicles. The five people who died on spot include two passengers who were in UAV 515J, two others who were passengers in Toyota Hiace UBE 613E, and a Bajaj Boxer rider.

Nampiima said unspecified numbers of injured passengers were rushed to Mulago hospital. The Buloba road crash comes two days after Uganda People’s Defence Forces- UPDF’s Major Alex Aceta, died on the Mbale-Iganga highway.
Maj Aceta’s driver Warrant Office 1 Mathias Ssefoloza, rammed into a stationary motor vehicle UAF 265F. The deceased Major was traveling in a Prado TX UBN 376C and was attached to Olillim Training School.
