
Police in Mbarara City have embarked on the hunt for the kidnappers of a two year old girl Rania Muganga, and now demanding 30 million shillings from her parents or else they will kill her.
Rania is a daughter of Bashir Muganga and Mariam Kamukama, who are residents of Rwemirizi cell, Katete ward Mbarara City South division. The coupe said that the kidnappers were traveling on a boda-boda
Muganda has told police that Rania was kidnapped on Thursday last week at around 5 pm while the mother of the victim had gone to the nearby shops. She had left the girl under the care of the maid.
Police have established that the unknown assailants visited the home and claimed that they had been sent by the girl’s mother. The unsuspecting maid allowed them to take the girl and they eventually disappeared.
The kidnappers later contacted the parents of the victim using a telephone line 0789074994 demanding 30 million shillings. Police in Mbarara have intensified the hunt for the kidnappers alongside other violent crime units especially crime intelligence and Flying Squad.
ASP Samson Kasasira, the Rwizi regional police spokesperson has cautioned parents to be very conscious of their personal security and monitor the movement of their children at home.
