Kabuusu Road Crash Kills Two People

Two people have been confirmed dead as a result of a road crash that occured today at Kabuusu, Lubaga division of Kampala.

The crash according to traffic police spokesperson Faridah Nampiima occured at around 8:20am has when a Fuso truck UAW 545P knocked down a Bajaj Boxer UDU 476J killing two people on spot.

Nampiima said the driver of the fuso and a rider are the people who died on spot while another person was left with serious injured.

“The deceased driver has been identified as Chellengat Enoth, a 31 year-old, from Kapchorwa and the rider whose identity has not yet been established. Bridget Chemutai, a 22 year old and wife of the deceased driver was seriously injured,” Nampiima said.

Chemutai is currently admitted at Mulago National Referral Hospital. It is alleged that motor vehicle lost control from Rubaga Road and knocked the rider who was from Natete side,” Nampiima said.

More than 130 people have been killed in road crashes in the first two weeks of this year. 79 people died in the first week of January while 56 died last week in road crashes.
