Uganda Has 11,500 Covid19 Active Cases

Between September and November 30, more than 200 people in had succumbed to Covid19.

As Uganda counts 42 days to next year’s presidential elections, Covid19 seems to be taking advantage of crowds turning up to cheer favourite candidates to spread like wild fire.

By Thursday evening, Uganda had 11,502 Covid19 patients admitted at both government and private hospitals while hundreds have been left to battle the contagious disease on their own in their respective homes.

The first surging Covid19 numbers have been attributed to politicians who have consistently flouted ministry of health and electoral commission orders.

The Electoral Commission led by justice, Simon Byabakama, in colloboration with ministry of health restricted political rallies to 200 people.

However, both members of the ruling political camps and those against the regime have continued to attract crowds.

Ministry of health seems to also lost morale as many Ugandans do not bother about wearing face masks.

Between September and November 30, more than 200 people in had succumbed to Covid19.

Dozens are battling the disease in various hospitals even though majority of those in critical condition are at Mulago National Referral hospital.

Covid19 has since killed two members of parliament, health workers and security gurus.
