PRESS STATEMENT ON SUSPECTED MURDER BY CUTTING IN KALAGARA SUBCOUNTY, LUWERO DISTRICT.
The Territorial police in Luwero district are investigating the suspected murder of Mr. Makumbi Eliab, a 58-year-old peasant originally from Nakaseke district. Mr. Makumbi was discovered dead near his toilet in a coffee plantation in Kalagara Subcounty on the morning of 09/11/2025.
Preliminary findings indicate that Mr. Makumbi had been engaged in peasantry work for over 30 years. On the evening of the incident, after going to the toilet located a few meters from his home, he failed to return.
Family members, concerned by his absence, searched the area and found him dead with visible signs of a violent attack. (multiple cuts).
Investigations are ongoing to establish the identity of the suspects and the motive behind this tragic incident.
The police are appealing to members of the community who may have any information to come forward and assist in the investigation.
