Former general duties minister, Mary Karoro Okurut, is dead according to minister Margret Muhanga. Muhanga announced Karoro’s demise using X on Monday at 8:58pm.
“Mary Busingye Karoro Okurut, more commonly known as Mary Karoro Okurut, is a Ugandan educator, author and politician. She is the former Cabinet Minister in Charge of General Duties in the Office of the Prime Minister, in the Ugandan Cabinet. She was appointed to that position on 6 June 2016,” Muhanga said.
Karoro was also known as Mary Busingye Karoro Okurut, more commonly known as Mary Karoro Okuru. She was an educator, author and politician. Karoro was a Cabinet Minister in Charge of General Duties in the Office of the Prime Minister, in the Ugandan Cabinet.
The cause of death isn’t known but she will be remembered as a principled woman, a counsellor to many and a mother to those who associated with her.
