Police at Wandegeya police station are investigating the disappearance of a Togolese national Sagna Nouwati Komi.
Komi, according to police sources, disappeared on August 03, 2025 and his whereabouts have remained a mystery.
Komi booked room 202 at Emin Pasha Hotel, in Kawempe Division, Kampala District on July 07, 2025.
The hotel staff have since told police that Komi stayed in the room up to 03/08/2025 when he booked out as usual on his private business but didn’t return.
“On 04/08/2025 two gentlemen presented themselves and claimed that Komi had been involved in a fatal accident and they should be allowed to clear the client’s Hotel bills and then be permitted to pick the victim’s belongings in the hotel room,” police sources said quoting the hotel staff.
Police have since established that one of the men who claimed that Komi had perished in a road crash is called Kalu.
“When the administrators demanded the death certificate of the client, then the two men went away and never came back,” police sources said.
Patrick Onyango the Kampala metropolitan police Spokesperson said the matter was then reported to police on 06/08/2025 for investigations.
“True, we’re investigating a case of disappearance of Togolese national and we’re tracing for the people who claimed that he died in a road crash,” Onyango said.
