As NRM concluded its internal parliamentary elections, some prominent political figures bounced back as party flagbearers while others lost.
Some of the prominent politicians in President Yoweri Museveni four decades regime who were declared winners by 5pm included: Jessica Alupo, the Vice President and Katakwi Women Member of Parliament, Matia Kasaija, the Finance Minister retained his Buyanja West NRM ticket after flooring his nemesis Dr Kyalimpa.
Former Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga retain her Kamuli District Women Member of Parliament seat, Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja, retained the Kakumiro district Women MP seat, Phiona Nyamutoro, the youthful state minister for energy won Nebbi Women MP seat.
However, a number of minister among others Fred Kyakulaga state minister for agriculture, Joyce Moriku Kaducu, state minister for primary education, David Bahati, state minister for finance, Jennifer Namuyangu, Musa Ecweru, and others terribly lost in NRM primaries.
Other than ministers, some renowned MPs such as Bernabas Tinkasiimire, were humbled in NRM primaries, while Kagabo who cross from NUP to join PLU and NRM also in Bukoto East.
