A single fatal road crash occurred today at approximately 07:00 am in Kakureiju village, Kanungu District. The crash involved a Toyota Land Cruiser registration number UAM 271U, driven by Alpha Dadaire, a 33-year-old resident of Wakiso District.
The vehicle, carrying American tourists, failed to brake while navigating a sharp corner on a slope, lost control, and rolled several times before ending up in Kyeshero Bridge. The crash resulted in the death of Shuldman Harrison Evan, a 40-year-old resident of New York, USA.
Three others were injured in the crash:
1. Zachary Avayou, a 39-year-old resident of Pennsylvania, USA
2. Jeremy Frederick Wright, a 25-year-old resident of California, USA
3. Alpha Dadaire, the 33-year-old driver
The victims have been rushed to Bwindi Hospital, while the deceased has been conveyed to the same hospital. The motor vehicle has been towed and parked at Kihihi Police Station pending inspection and further inquiries.
