Police in Rukiga district has arrested three people in regards to the murder by Suffocation of Frank Turyatemba 35yrs a resident of Bwasha village Rutengye parish Kashambya sub county Rukiga district.
Police have identified the three as Niwabine Calorine 28 yrs wife to the deceased and resident of the same address.
The second suspect is Akatwebembera Phiona 42yrs of the same above address while the third is Tayebwa Onesmus 38yrs Timber lumberer brother to the deceased and resident of the same address.
ASP Elly Mate, the Kigezi regional police Spokesperson said: “It’s alleged that the deceased and brother (suspect) have been with long standing grudges over land issues which they had reported to different offices.”
Police said on the 31/10/2024 the deceased went to sell charcoal and at around 2100hrs he arrived home drunk, he knocked and the wife opened for him served him food and was unable to eat.
“He told his wife that his brother Tayebwa Onesmus met him on the way and assaulted him ,he was feeling pain in the stomach. He told his wife to go and tell his mother what was killing him,”ASP Mate said.
Police added that his wife went and called his mother who refused to open, she called her several times and, she told her she would see him in the morning.
“When his wife went back, she found when her husband was already dead in his bed. She went directly and reported at Kashambya police station,” ASP Mate added.
Police visited the scene, recorded statements from relevant wittiness and the three suspects arrested to help police in investigations.
The body was refered to Kabale referral hospital for postmortem and handed to relatives for decent burial.
