The Police at Jinja Road are currently investigating a fire outbreak that occurred at Side View Nursery and Primary School, located in Kinawataka Zone One, Mbuya Parish, Nakawa Division, Kampala District. The incident was reported to the Police at approximately 9:00 PM on the evening of 21st September 2024.
The Police Fire and Rescue Services promptly responded to the scene; however, due to the wooden structures of the school, the fire rapidly engulfed the property, leaving nothing salvageable. Fortunately, as the school operates as a day school, there were no children on the premises at the time, and no lives were lost.
Preliminary information suggests that the fire may have started from the school kitchen and quickly spread, causing extensive damage. The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation, and further details will be provided as they become available.
