
The Chief of Joint Staff, Major General Jack Bakasumba, has today met with the Military and Air Attaché to the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Uganda, Colonel Nikolay Pavlov, who paid a courtesy call on him at the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs Headquarters, Mbuya.
Maj Gen Bakasumba hailed the cordial relationship between Uganda and Russia, especially in Security and Defence, and said that Uganda continues to benefit from Russia’s experience in combating terrorism through training of Uganda’s Military Personnel.
He said that Uganda is open avenues for further cooperation by establishing a legal framework for collaboration between the two countries.
Col Nikolay Pavlov expressed Russia’s willingness to share their military experience with Uganda through different areas of Defence Cooperation. Present in the meeting was the Assistant Attaché, Lt Col Eugene Shmelev.
