The Church of Uganda (COU) Bishops led by Archbishop Dr Stephen Kazimba Mugalu have elected Rev Can Wilson Kisekka as the fourth Bishop of Kasana- Luweero Diocese.
Kisekka is expected to face resistance from parishioners who sued Archbishop Kazimba after their native son Godfrey Kasana missed out on being installed as fourth Bishop on accusations of having children outside his wedlock.
Kasana’s election as fourth Luweero Bishop was cancelled after evidence emerged that he has children out of his wedlock and joined the priesthood with unforgivable ‘sin’.
Bishop Ssebagala who retired as Mukono Diocese Bishop was appointed as caretaker for Luweero but the Christians vowed to reject any one who will appointed other Kasana.
