The Judiciary is working up to prioritize the swift resolution of cases in the commercial and land divisions in the upcoming year 2024.
While speaking at a conference today, Pius Bigirimana noted that there was need to scale up their engagement with such cases as next year comes in.
According to Dr. Bigirimana, many cases are stalling at the commercial court which is being a hindrance to economical development.
He said; “These cases have to do with things like trade , construction and other things. Imagine the amount of money being held at bay from flowing into the economy because of slow judicial processes.
“
He nevertheless highlighted strides that have been made in the past year regarding transitioning from using rented spaces for the supreme and court appeal .
He revealed that the completion of the permanent structures is at 99 percent left with only electrification.
The accomplishments are however still hampered with challenges like understaffing.
