The Ministry for Kampala and KCCA has unveiled a campaign” Keep kampala clean” focused at ensuring sanity and general cleanliness of the capital city, kampala.
Hon. Hajjati Minsa Kabanda on behalf of Kampala ministry with the Executive Director Kampala Capital City Authority KCCA being represented by Dr. Daniel Okello graced the event in at Makindye division, kibuli Market grounds on Thursday.
According to Kabanda, “Makindye should be kept clean starting by the residents, the Makindye Sacco is also a useful entity because the savings can be used to empower the the city cleaners,” speaking to the audience she explained.
She also described on how the leadership for kampala is looking forward to increament of funds towards development of Makindye division especially in roads and cleanliness activities.
Kabanda, further revealed on the her meeting with president Museveni on how to fight or eliminate garbage in kampala, the resolutions among others is to come up with a plant in Uganda that collects garbage and use it to manufacture other important items which can be sold for income.
Other invited guests included the Director Home Clean Uganda, Director public Health KCCA, Makindye town clerk , councillors, local leaders, the Founder 7 hills and city cleaners.
The Director Home Clean Uganda, Mr. Isaac Katureebe expressed appreciation on Thursday towards the Minister for Kampala and the Executive Director KCCA, for ensuring and maintainance of a clean city, Kampala.
Katureebe, urged citizens of Uganda to always keep their cities clean and appealed to the law enforcers to act accordingly inline with those few who dispose gabbage in an irresponsible manner.
Mr. Menton Salim, Founder 7 Hills “city cleaners” has agreed with the Minister and the president of Uganda to keep unity among the city cleaners , however he requested people to avoid involvement of politics in work especially while delivering service to Ugandans.
“I already called upon all the cleaners to come for unity but the problem is the corn men who don’t even have contracts that create divisions amongst people.” He pointed out.
