
Unidentified people have stabbed to death a woman in Rubanda district. The deceased has been identified as, Agatha Busingye, a resident of Kiruruma village, Ihanga Parish, Bubaare Sub-county.
ASP Elly Mate the Kigezi regional police spokesperson said Busingye’s murder is registered on CRB 273/2023.
“It is alleged that yesterday at around 8 pm, the deceased left her home and went to Ihanga trading center to buy herself domestic item. But 30 minutes later, her brother one Byaruhanga Levis was informed that his sister had been murdered and dumped in a trench nearby her home,” ASP Mate said.

Police said Byaruhanga proceeded to the crime scene with his friends and confirmed the gruesome ending of his sister’s life.
“The deceased was found with fresh stabs on her body. One stab was on the upper neck, two on the right side of the lower stomach, one on the left breast, one deep cut besides the right breast and one on the upper left shoulder,” Mate said.
Busingye’s murder scene was visited by police with a sniffer dog and processed by team of officers from Rubanda Central Police Station -CPS and Bubaare police post.
ASP Richard Tukamuhabwa led the team that processed the scene. The community was advised restrain itself from taking the laws in their hands and killing each other.
“Postmortem was done at the crime scene and body handed over to the parents for burial arrangements,” police said. ASP Mate said one suspect, Robert Twinomujuni 27, a casual worker and a resident of Kazindiro village, Nangara parish, Nyamweru Sub-county has been arrested to help in investigations.
