Security Release Names of Students, Adults Killed in Kasese ADF Attack

Security agencies have identified 25 out of the 42 people killed in suspected Allied Democratic Forces –ADF attack at Lhubiriha secondary school last Friday in Kasese district. The attackers linked to ADF raided attacked the school at 10pm and left after wreaking havoc on students and locals.

Senior Commissioner of Police –SCP Fred Enanga has named 25 of the deceased as Muhindi Wapalya 25 male peasant, Kiiza Khabugho Rosette 15, in S2, Rusia Kamalha 22 female in S3, Martin Kule 22 male in S3, Eliton Masereka 17, in S3, Rosette Masika 17 S3, Ruth Katusime 20, female, Mackline Nzabake 18, S.2 female, and Mbusa Kirihuhandi 47, the school watchman.

Other identified killed person include Eliza Nyakato 19, S.2, Ronet Biira 17, in S3, Gauba Biira 20, Junior Mbambu 20 female, Jovibine Kabugho 16, in S1 female, Melvine Biira 14, in S1, Marion Ithungu 22, Joy Ithungu 17, in S3, Amina Rashid 17, Zakayo Masereka 70, a peasant, Florence Masika 95, a peasant, Regina Ithungu 16, Masiline Kabugo 18, in S1, Mackline Ithungu 12, in S1, Janet Khabugho 16, in S1 and Bridget Deya Khabugho 16, female.

Enanga said the forces have transferred two of the injured six to Kiruddu and Mulago hospitals in Kampala. He added that Wilfred Aliganuira and Godwin Tumwebaze who sustained severe burns are admitted at Kiruddu and Mulago hospitals respectively.

Security said the four other people who were injured have been left at Bwera hospital in Kasese district because they were not in a life threatening condition. Those left at Bwera hospital include Mbambo Felistas 50, Kule Elias 18, Mbumbere Godwin 16 and Isingoma Julius 2. The survivors have been identified as Edgar Mumbere, Moses Kato and Gideon Kambesa.

Enanga said 20 people including the school director and head teacher have been arrested to aide in the investigations. Security said most of the arrested suspects allegedly aided the suspected ADF attackers whom Maj Gen Dick Olum said they spent two days in the area.
