Police Spokespersons Promoted

Police spokespersons have eaten big in the latest police promotions. President Yoweri Museveni promoted 1,634 senior police officers last week of Friday. The list of promoted police officers ranging from the rank of Assistant Superintendent of –ASP to Senior Commissioner of Police –ACP was released by the minister for internal affairs Maj Gen (rtd) Kahinda Otafiire.

Regional police spokespersons who have mostly been at the rank of ASP were promoted to the rank of Superintendent of Police –SP while a few who had been SPs have now been promoted to the rank of Senior Superintendent of Police –SSP.

Those promoted from the rank of ASP to SP include Racheal Kawala the Wamala regional police spokesperson, Hellen Butoto the Ssezibwa regional police spokesperson, Lydia Tumushabe the Katongo region police spokesperson, Julius Hakiza the Albertine region police spokesperson, Samson Kasasira the Rwizi region police spokesperson.

Others regional police spokespersons promoted from ASP to SP are: Vincent Twesigye the Rwenzori West police spokesperson, Nelson Tumushime the Rwenzori East police spokesperson, Sowali Kamulya the Bukedi region police spokesperson, and Immaculate Alaso the North Kyoga region police spokesperson.

SP Josephine Angucia the West Nile regional police spokesperson has been promoted to the rank of SSP, SP Diana Nandaula former Busoga East regional police spokesperson. However, the missing of ASP Luke Owoyesigyire the deputy Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson, on the promotions list has left many wondering.
