A driver on a wrong lane has killed one person and injured another who were passengers on a motorcycle.
The fatal road crash happened today at 6:30 am at Kamuserwa cell, Nyarurambi ward, Rubanda town council along Kabale- Kisoro road in Rubanda district.
ASP Elly Mate the Kigezi regional police spokesperson has identified the killer vehicle as Toyota Premio UAY 258C white in colour but details of its driver could not be readily established.

The Premio driver who was speeding and on a wrong lane killed Alex Samuel Tuyisenge 25, who was riding a Bajaj boxer UFG 730J red in colour.
Tuyisenge, according to ASP Mate, was a resident of Nyaruhengeri cell, Busamba ward, Southern division, Kisoro municipality in Kisoro district.
The injured person has been identified as Edson Ndyomugyenyi 47, a resident of Mukigwa cell, Kashuguta ward, Northern division in Kabale district.
“It is alleged that the motor vehicle was heading to Kisoro side whereas the motorcycle was from the opposite direction heading to Kabale. But the vehicle driver was driving on a wrong lane hence colliding head on with the motorcycle rider from Kisoro,” ASP Mate said.
Tuyisenge and Ndyomugyenyi were rushed by UP 7647 to Muko Health Centre where the former was pronounced dead on arrival.
“The passenger was referred to Kabale hospital for further management. The cause of the crash reckless driving by the Premio driver,” ASP Mate said.
Traffic directorate records show reckless driving and speeding are the leading causes of road fatalities and injuries.
