A private security guard has shot to death, Rudeny Agaba, a student of Uganda Christian University UCU. The fatal fire discharge happened at Meru Fuel Station at 1 pm.
ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the deputy Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson said the investigations have been taken over by Mukono Police Division.

Meru petrol station is located in Kiwanga, Mukono District. The deceased was also a resident of the same area.
Police’s preliminary investigations suggest that a dispute arose between a private security guard, Kadil Tugume 27, deceased ensued in the afternoon hours.
“It is alleged that the deceased attempted to climb over a wall fence within the security guard’s assigned area, leading to an escalated situation,” Owoyesigyire said.
Tugume responded by discharging his firearm, fatally injuring the individual. Locals and police rushed to Agaba to Gwattiro hospital in Bweyogerere where he was later pronounced dead.
Owoyesigyire said upon arrival at the scene, the police recovered two cartridge casings.
“An army green vehicle with registration number UAW403S was present at the scene, exhibiting a suspected bullet hole,” Owoyesigyire said.
Tugume’s gun was recovered as a potential weapon used in the shooting. Live bullets were found near the victim’s shooting scene. Police said all these will be used as evidence.
“As part of the ongoing investigation, the primary suspect, Tugume Kadili, has been apprehended and is currently detained at Seeta Police Station,” Owoyesigyire said.
Police said Mukono Police Division is fully committed to conducting a thorough investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.
Security has also urged the public to remain calm as they deligently work to gather all the necessary facts.
