
Thugs last night beat two catholic priests, robbed an unspecified amount of money, and also varnished with mobile phones. The thugs raided Nswanjere junior seminary in Mpigi district leaving Fr Godfrey Kyeyune, the Vice Rector, and Fr Emmanuel Mukukule nursing injuries.
Fr Mukukule and Fr Kyeyune are currently admitted at Lubaga hospital in Kampala. The robbers also robbed money and mobile phones of Fr John Bosco Kigundu and Bro John Bosco Mwasa.
Luke Owoyesigyire, the deputy police spokesperson, said thugs raided the seminary at around 03:00 am. “It is alleged that unknown assailants gained entrance into the school by cutting barbed wires fencing the school and proceeded to rob the school of various items including a TV, mobile phones, cash, a laptop, and the church Tabernacle,” Owoyesigyire said.

Police officers from Wakiso district have visited the scene to collect evidence. By press time, police were recording statements from relevant witnesses and an exhibit of a grey bag containing coins amounting to four thousand shillings was recovered a few meters from the scene.
“The suspects are still at large, and the police are currently conducting inquiries to apprehend them. The Police assures the public that it will do everything within its power to bring the perpetrators to justice and ensure the safety and security of the residents in the area,” Owoyesigyire said.
Police have urged members of the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police promptly. Police have called anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects is encouraged to come forward and share it with the police.
