Ugandan Radio Station Manager Almost Kills Female Colleague Over $11

Ugandans have been left in utter shock after learning that a man in a viral video beating and strangling a lady is a manager of a radio station belonging to Information and Communication Technology -ICT minister Dr Chris Baryomunsi.

The culprit who has since been identified by Kigezi regional police spokesperson, Elly Mate, as Nelson Twinamatsiko, manages Kanungu fm and the source of the fight was sharing commission of $11 (about Ugx40,000).

Mate has also identified Twinamatsiko’s masculinity victim as Anita Tumuramye working for the same radio station.

Tumuramye 24, is a resident of Katate cell western ward Kanungu town council, and has since reported Twinamatsiko 51, as her boss who clobbered her like a lifeless object.

Mate said the incident happened on Wednesday last week but Tumuramye filed the case yesterday leading to summoning of him of Twinamatsiko.

“It’s alleged that on 26/01/2023 at around 1800hrs at the Kanungu Fm Radio station, was assaulted by the manager when she had gone to demand for her 40,000/= commission from him. After she reported,
statements were recorded from her and witnesses.

Mate added: “The scene of crime was visited, documented, and investigations were carried out. The suspect was summoned, and appeared today morning.”

Police said Twinamatsiko’s statement was recorded and he is police custody pending court.

“The case file completed and forwarded to the Resident State Attorney with charge sheet for further management,” Mate said.
