The Flying Squad Unit -FSU has arrested a man suspected to have strangled to death Mityana-based lodge attendant, Racheal Mutesi, on Saturday last week. Mutesi was found dead and lying on her back. Her body had a black belt on the neck which was tied to the bed stand.
Racheal Kawala, the Wamala regional police spokesperson, said the incident happened at the BK island Guest house in Mityana municipality. Mutesi’s death was notified to the Guest house’s management by a male client who disappeared immediately.

Kawala said FSU was notified and a hunt for the suspected murderer was launched until Twaha Kasankya was apprehended yesterday at around 8 am from his hideout at Buye-Kikumbi North ward, Busimbi division.
Kansakya, according to information obtained from him by FSU is a resident of Butambo village, Namasagali sub-county, in Kamuli district. “The suspect is still under interrogation. His case file will be submitted to DPP for legal advice after the investigations are complete,” Kawala said.
