A lot of conspiracy theories are surrounding the death of Uganda’s Chairman of Kayunga district who was found hanging on a tree on Wednesday morning. Renowned for fighting land grabbers, Muhamad Ffeffekka Sserubogo, was discovered dead by a brother at around 8am.

Sserubogo, who stood on a ticket of National Unity Platform –NUP, headed by reggae star turned politician Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine, was sworn in as Kayunga district boss last month and he was full of life.
The deceased has been known for confronting people majorly belonging or affiliated to ruling party of National Resistance Movement –NRM who have on several occasion evicted dozens of people from their land.
Locals have refuted the talk of Sserubogo having eliminated his life by hanging. They insist that he was strangled and later hanged on a tree to depict a picture that he had killed himself. NUP leaders such as MP Joel Ssenyonyi who is also party’s spokesperson, tasked police to investigate the incident and avail a report in time.
Kampala City Lord Mayor, Erias Lukwago, also demanded for a thorough investigation into circumstances that led to Sserubogo’s death. His body was taken to Uganda’s National hospital Mulago for a postmortem.
